My Memories of David Hardman and the Agency (Sure Employment)

Created by Ian Campbell 8 years ago
I had to give up full time work back in 2002 as my wife Diane was undergoing treatment for breast cancer and I needed to juggle work and care for Diane, so I went temping, I'd temped previously with Vera Sugg back in the mid-late 80's at the Alliance & Leicester hove park ( that's where I met my happily ever after Diane), so went online and out of the blue found an agency looking for advanced drivers for a local engineering company here in Shoreham so went in, met Steven and Viv and registered. I met David a little while later on one of my visits to the agency he was always polite and courteous and always had a welcoming smile, on one particular assignment during an airshow David arranged for me to meet him outside his and Monica's home and await the driver to return with the vehicle as we had to change over on the road as this particular weekend was the shoreham airshow and traffic as always around the airport at this time is quite busy so there was David and myself awaiting the driver. David and I had a good laugh exchanging parts of our life stories and eventually the other driver who was supposed to finish his shift at 2pm turned up at 3.30-3.45. In 2006/7 As Diane got the all clear as cancer had not reoccurred, I waved goodbye to the Agency. 2008 I then get made redundant as dealership closes down and as I had always been looked after by sure employment went back temping I thought it would be a short thing to tide me over, but things did not go to plan Diane got very ill and passed away xmas eve 2011, as for me today, I'm still temping at Sure. So thanks to David Hardman for starting up the Agency, they have helped me through some difficult times, sometimes its nice work sometimes its dirty and even bloody work but when you don't have anyone or anybody to impress, its just a job, and somebody's got to do it. Maybe that's why Steve calls me the Super Temp.
